Welcome to Meet CADA
Every month Every month we’ll be meeting a member of the CADA Design team to understand how and what they do! Last month we met Dan.
This month … Meet Caroline!
Who are you and what is your job title?
Caroline Hamlett and I am an Associate Design Director.
What does your job entail?
Overseeing and providing creative direction and supporting team leaders throughout the duration of projects to inspire and elevate the teams capabilities. I also attend project briefings and ensure that our clients vision is brought to life.
How long have you worked for CADA Design in total?
13 years
What is the most memorable project you have worked on?
Definitely Ichiba, by Japan Centre
Why was this project so memorable?
For so many reasons
1. The chance to build on an existing client relationship which I had helped to establish
2. Accompanying our client on a trip to Tokyo prior to the project kick off to fully immerse in the Japanese culture and bring back first hand influences into the project
3. And we won a FAB award for Interiors and Retail Environment 2019 for our work.
What is the most unique sketch you have done?
Possibly the sketches for a cash and carry because they are big, detailed and very different for the type of concept that you would normally see in this sector.
Do you have an unusual hobby?
Unusual I don’t know … I’ve ridden motorbikes since I was 16 years old and have owned my Ducati Monster since I was 18 years old. One day, I hope to get it back on the road again. Bit of a petrol head, love heavy metal … over lockdown I took up sewing … some would say out of character but I decided I wanted to make clothes for my new nephew who was born in January. I’m pretty headstrong when I decide I want to do something.
Can you describe either your dream holiday or dream meal?
Anywhere in Italy! My father and I used to travel across Europe on motorbikes through my teens and twenties – it’s like a home from home. I really want to go back to the Amalfi coast. I love the weather, the atmosphere, and the food!
