A brief history
Family business Webbs, was founded in the 19th Century as a seed supplier, and have been the appointed supplier of seeds to every monarch since Queen Victoria. In the 1960s a garden centre was opened on site, which has grown over the last 50 years until it now occupies over 100,000 square feet of space.
Let the food do the talking
CADA have been working with Webbs to redevelop Webbs’ Food Hall and restaurant, creating a retail space that showcases their premium products and creates an engaging food retail experience. We have designed a new-look food hall will sell high quality, locally sourced foods as well as premium products from around the world.
Our brief was to transform Webbs food hall into a food destination, with the addition of a butchery, bakery, fresh counter, in-store gelateria and specialist wine, beer and spirits department. The interior and branding is simple yet elegant, using metro shelving, timber and a colour palette of black and white which supports the brand message – that the food does the talking.
We removed the ceiling above the food hall to open up the space and create a sense of scale, as well as develop a standalone identity based on the ‘Food at Webbs’ brand, and insert a new grab and go coffee and food offer for customers in a hurry.
The new open plan development allows the refurbished food hall to flow through to the re-imagined restaurant where it will be easy to browse the menu, relax, enjoy table service and purchase some of the ingredients used within your meal.
Food quality is at the heart of the Food Hall’s offer, supplying the very best of local as well as internationally sourced produce to their customers.
Please note, these are snaps taken by our designers and a full project profile will be available soon on our work page.
Webbs Food Hall is now open and trading from 9 – 8 Monday to Friday and 9 – 6 Saturdays.
