Based within Copenhagen’ grand central station, the revolutionary new store concept, MAD Cooperativet has been born. CADA Design were commissioned by the Danish convenience group COOP. Our teams worked together to turn this historic space into a highly interactive retail experience.
With an enviable footfall passing through the store each day, live national broadcasts and cooking demonstrations coming from the in-store TV2 Studio, you are enticed by the theatrical surroundings that welcome you to explore the store.
COOP planned to build a space that provided ‘convenience foods’ for commuters, by offering healthy foods that are easily accessible ‘on the go’. They intend to re-invent the image of ‘convenience food’, removing the option of TV dinners, and replacing it for fresh organic produce. Responding to the brief, CADA designed a ‘grab and go’ recipe stand, free water tap and their very own vegetable butcher.
With MAD Cooperativet’s powerful punch of neon, sleek marble, industrial metal shelving and statement lighting, the Denmark national press have already coined the term “The Dean and Deluca of Denmark”.
